The HUB at King George Station and Marine Gateway Achieve LEED® CS Gold

Congratulations to Triovest BC team and PCI Developments for achieving LEED® Core and Shell (CS) Gold at both the HUB at King George Station, in Surrey, and Marine Gateway, in Vancouver. Both buildings exemplify sustainable, mixed-use, transit-oriented development.
Marine Gateway Highlights:
- Promotes alternative transportation by:
- Combining direct transit integration of Marine Drive Canada Station and South Vancouver Bus Loop
- Encouraging cycling with onsite bicycle storage
- Providing Level 2 EV chargers
- Reduces energy consumption by using an onsite closed loop geo-exchange system that shares heating, cooling, and domestic hot water between retail, office and residential uses, and providing capacity for future system expansion to meet neighbouring energy use
- Provides a minimum of 70% of heating requirements from renewable energy and reduces greenhouse gasses up 60% compared to ‘business as usual’
The HUB at King George Station Phase A Highlights:
- Encourages alternative transportation by providing onsite bicycle storage and shower facilities for occupants, providing ten public electric car charging stations and ten private Level 2 EV chargers, and direct access to adjacent SkyTrain transit
- Collaborates with Coast Capital to deliver educational information sessions and engagement contests to employees to raise awareness of diverting waste from landfill, with results indicating a 75% diversion rate
- Reduces energy consumption through installation of occupancy sensors for 70% of the connected lighting load
- Uses green power to provide 70% of the building’s electricity and reduce greenhouse gas emissions
