2 Bloor Street West Achieves Platinum Wired Certification for Best-in-Class Internet Connectivity

Triovest is pleased to announce that 2 Bloor Street West, a 438,188 sq. ft. office tower located in Toronto’s Bloor-Midtown office node, has become the first building in that market to achieve the designation of Wired Certified Platinum.
The designation was assigned upon review of the building’s best-in-class connectivity, technological infrastructure and readiness to adopt to emerging technologies.
2 Bloor Street West is a 35-story Class A office tower located on the corner of Yonge and Bloor Streets in Toronto. The building’s prime location in the Bloor-Midtown office node offers tenants direct access to the subway, public parking, the Bloor underground pedestrian walkway and various food, shopping, and fitness amenities including Cumberland Terrace, Yorkville and Bloor Street.
Notable tenants benefitting from 2 Bloor West’s best-in-class digital infrastructure include international advertising agency BBDO, research intelligence group Leger, The Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CIBC), Indeed, and the Province of Ontario.
“Office space that provides quality internet connectivity has become an increasingly important priority among tenants in Toronto,” said Arie Barendrecht, CEO and co-founder of WiredScore. “With KingSett Capital being one of Canada’s leading real estate owners, we’re delighted to have them commit to best-in-class digital infrastructure.”
“Our motivation at 2 Bloor West is to provide best in class service. Understanding our tenants needs and providing the infrastructure required to operate efficiently and effectively helps us to attract and maintain long term tenancies,” said Sandi Mileta-Clancy, Director of Property Management at Triovest Realty Advisors. “With our Wired Certification, existing and new tenants are assured they have access to the most cutting-edge, high-quality and reliable internet services available.”
In pursuing Wired Certification, 2 Bloor West underwent a comprehensive certification process that evaluated the aspects of digital infrastructure that support resilient, reliable internet connectivity for businesses. Upon review of the building’s internet service providers available to tenants, infrastructure redundancy, connection access points, and readiness to meet future tenant needs, a Wired Certification level is assigned based on the official standards developed by WiredScore and its connectivity advisory board with representatives from Google Fiber, Rudin Management, Arup, WSP / Parsons Brinckerhoff, and Zayo Group.
2 Bloor West has displayed highly advanced technological infrastructure that is essential for reliable, redundant Internet connections, thus earning the Wired Certified Platinum designation.
The certification was given based on the building’s ability to provide tenants with features of connectivity that matter most: multiple points of entry into the building to mitigate service outages, capacity to support future equipment installation, two communications risers allowing physical diversity and six internet service providers offering high speed fibre connectivity, which provides tenants with flexibility when selecting internet service.
In addition to meeting standards for Wired Certification, the building has also been previously recognized for excellence in sustainability with a BOMA Best Silver designation.
